Today is Day 1.

* We have started our coin collection drive for the families affected by Hurricane Sandy.  There will be containers set up in the building.  They should be available in the gym starting today.  We will update when we get more information.

*The Speas PTA is looking for Volunteers for a few fun Christmas things for staff and students.  If you know anyone, please pass the following information along.  Folks can contact SR if they are interested.

 

The Speas PTA would like to share with you 3 great opportunities you have to show your support to Speas students and teachers.

 

 

1^st – Teacher Holiday Lunch – December 17, from 10:30-1:30 Volunteer 1 hour to cover lunch and recess so that your child’s teacher can attend a special catered lunch

 

2^nd – Student Gift Wrapping – Wrap gifts that students “purchase” from the Bee Hive Store - Volunteer for 1-2 hours on one of the following days: December 14, 17, 18 or 19

 

3^rd – Assist with the PTA Craft table during Speas Family Night on December 13 – volunteer for one 20-30 minute shift

* Thursday, December 6, is Papa Murphy's Pizza Night for Speas.  If you can come out and support us that would be great.  Papa Murphy is giving 10% of the proceeds from that night to Speas.  Also, the class with the highest participation will win a pizza party for their holiday party.  

* Thursday December 6 is also Parent Power Night.  The school system has some really fun and informative things for parents to do.
Here’s the schedule:

5:30 to 6:15 p.m. – Registration and dinner

6:15 to 7:45 p.m. – School-age children will participate in The Polar Express Pajama Party. They are, indeed, welcome to wear pajamas. After an opening session, parents will be able to choose from a number of educational sessions.

 “Stress Busters for Families – Penny Hazen

“How to Survive the Teenage Years” – Angie Diaz 

“College and Career READY” (for parents of high school students)

7:45 to 8:15 p.m. – Holiday Celebration

8:15 to 8:30 – Closing with door prizes and a “Holiday Surprise.”

It will held at the Education Building on Bethania Station Road.

*Tuesday, Dec. 11th, 2012: Higgins away at meeting
                                                 Interim Reports go home

*Wednesday, Dec. 12th, 2012: IC meeting day
                                                      PBIS team meeting

*Thursday, Dec. 13th, 2012: Cook at Meeting
                                                   Parent Night  6:00-7:00 PM

*Monday, Dec. 17th:  We will have a special treat during lunch from our fantastic PTA.

                                    

*Tuesday, Dec. 18th: Speas Family Christmas celebration in the Media Center at  3:00 

*Wednesday, Dec. 19th: PBIS Movie Day
