Today is Day 3.

*Friday, Jan. 25th:       Report Cards Due to Admin
                                              Dress Down Day

School is closing today at 11:25 due to weather.

Remember to update your PDP----thanks to those who already did so!

Don't forget to follow Speas on Twitter to get updates and reminders.

Gentle Reminders:
* When planning and executing field trip plans, please keep in mind that it is against policy to require parents to accompany students on trips.  We cannot exclude students from trips for behavior, or inability to pay.

*During the winter months please pay very close attention to the temperature before taking students outside to play.  The guideline we use is that outside play is safe when the temperature is between 32-90 degrees.  It is also important to consider the wind chill factor.   You can peruse the following websites for ideas:

http://adventuretofitness.com/

Teachers have also been known to use youtube dance videos with students.  Please remember to always preview any web-based activities.

*  Wednesday Jan. 23 will be DAY 1.... The make up day (Feb. 18) will be the day 6 we missed.

* Fluency daily practice resumes on Mon. Jan. 28.  Copies of a passage were placed in teacher boxes for teachers to use this week to help teach your students the procedures we discussed before holiday break.  If you need a refresher or another copy of the graphs to be ready for next week, please ask me.

*   Foundations of Reading training is at SPEAS on Saturday, Jan 26 from 8:30-3:30.  Be sure to bring your training manual.

*  RTI reminders:  be sure to have your PEPs updated, closed, revised, extended, or created new ones...the next training is next Tuesday, Jan.  29.

*  AR Celebration will be rescheduled as soon as possible.  Also, teachers need to go ahead and reset goals for 3rd quarter.  Don't forget to schedule a time in the computer lab to do the mid-year STAR test.

* We have a big middle of year assessment period beginning next week.  Details will be sent in another email on Wednesday.
